The consulting technologist provides oversight and is accountable for accreditation readiness for sites where Billings Clinic provides laboratory directorships or medical directorships. The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing consulting support for high complexity laboratories for the pathologists and serves as the laboratory director for moderately complex labs as it applies to clinical laboratory testing and point of care testing. The Consulting Medical Technologist will coordinate closely with the Accreditation Readiness steering team Marketing staff Point of Care Medical Technologist Pathologists Laboratory Leadership and other department staff to understand and define best practices.Essential Job FunctionsGENERAL•Interprets supports and models behaviors consistentwith the mission and philosophy of Billings Clinic and departmentservice.Responsible for promotion of and adherence to the elements of BillingsClinics Code of Business Conduct and corporate compliance program.•Laboratory Director Responsibilities•Presents summary findings on annual basis toCEOfacility leadership.•Review and approve laboratory policies and procedures•Attends on site accreditation surveyinspection.•Approves instrumentation requests and changes tomethodology.Laboratory Technical Supervisor ConsultantResponsibilities•Works to maintain and strengthen existing relationships.•Responsible to evaluate day-to-day operationaltechnicalactivities of lab management to accomplish the goals and objectives as definedfor laboratory services.•Develops and makes recommendations for policies andprocedures to ensure the laboratory operates effectively and efficiently andcomplies with all applicable regulatory requirements.•Ensure completion of training and competencydocumentation as required by accreditation standards.•Conducts site reviews andor visits in coordinationwith the pathologists for sites where Billings Clinic provides laboratorydirectorships or medical directorships. Submits written documentation of sitevisit.•Works collaboratively with Pathologists and laboratoryoperations staff to resolve problems issues or concerns at sites whereBillings Clinic provides laboratory directorships or medical directorships.•Assists with preparation for regulatory inspections atsites where Billings Clinic provides laboratory directorships or medicaldirectorships.General Responsibilities•Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth anddevelopment meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.•Maintains knowledge and understanding of current trendsand developments relating to regulatory requirements for laboratory services.•Maintains competency in all organizational departmentaland outside agency safety standards relevant to job performance.•Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet theneeds of the departmentorganization.Supports and models behaviors consistent with BillingsClinics mission vision values code of business conduct and serviceexpectations.
