As a Vice President, Assistant General Counsel in Consumer & Community Banking Litigation, you are at the center of keeping JPMorgan Chase strong and resilient. As a Vice President, Assistant General Counsel in Consumer & Community Banking Litigation, you will handle litigation matters from beginning to end: retaining outside counsel, guiding them regarding strategy, reviewing briefs, assisting with discovery, and advising our clients as needed. You will manage defensive litigation filed against the bank involving Consumer, Business Banking, Auto, Credit Card, Commercial, and Asset Wealth Management, and advise our clients on legal risk, reporting, and issues related to litigation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Structure and negotiate agreements and relationships with vendors, partners, and other third parties for market data
  • Draft, review, and negotiate technology agreements, including intellectual property licenses, software licenses and support, software as a service agreements, cloud services, and outsourcing arrangements
  • Manage end-to-end negotiations by coordinating internal stakeholders and navigating approval processes to achieve timely execution
  • Advise internal partners on contract interpretation, risk allocation, and negotiation strategy for technology acquisitions and services
  • Partner with senior attorneys to support training and guidance on market data topics for internal teams
  • Provide guidance on new and evolving regulatory requirements relevant to technology sourcing and third-party relationships
  • Support due diligence and integration activities for strategic transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and investments

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Law degree (or educational equivalent) and eligibility to practice law in the jurisdiction where the role is based by the start date
  • 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney in a law firm or in-house legal environment
  • Experience drafting and negotiating technology and outsourcing contracts with third-party providers
  • Experience negotiating software licensing and support, software as a service, content licensing, reseller, cloud services, consulting, and professional services agreements
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and legal research skills
  • Strong business judgment and ability to apply practical risk-based legal advice
  • Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues, analyze problems, and propose viable solutions
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow up proactively and drive assignments to completion with sound judgment
  • Ability to build alignment and consensus across a global, matrixed organization

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Familiarity with regulatory topics relevant to technology in financial services, including outsourcing and third-party risk management
  • Interest in emerging technology solutions and applications, including baseline understanding of artificial intelligence concepts and related licensing considerations
  • Experience supporting market data transactions or market data services stakeholders
  • Experience partnering with information security, third-party oversight, or sourcing functions on technology agreements
