Consumer Loan Servicing Specialist: III (Senior)

Provides support for department working on packaged loan sales and ultimate transitioning of loan packages to a 3rd party servicing institution.  Will work the transition of a "package/deal” of loans from Huntington to 3rd party servicer from start to finish/transition.

• Every loan package is treated as a "project.”
• The resource will handle up to 5 loan packages (deals) that will start every week or so and mature at different times to spread out the workload evenly.
• There is an excel spreadsheet that will drive and capture the work and operates as a project/deal template because the process is repeatable.
• Partner with internal colleagues, customers, investors and vendors
• The team meets every day at 8:30 like a scrum call to discuss ideas to improve.  Review status and where the process is breaking down.
• Perform reviews associated with regulatory/compliance requirements – Servicing Transfer notifications to borrowers.  Cannot be edited.  Peer reviewed before they go out.

Must Have

• 3 or more years of experience in loan servicing, secondary marketing, or financial services – any load servicing is awesome. We discussed other industries like healthcare where the candidate can manage a complex set of actions to ultimate transition/completion.  ATTENTION TO DETAIL and LIVING IN AN EXCEL SPREADSHEET every hour of every day is critical.
• Working in financial services or some other complex, regulated environment is a big plus.
• Experience and proficiency with Microsoft products including Excel – navigation, sorting, filtering, high-level user skills of Excel.
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Have

• 1 – 3 years of Project Coordination experience
• A good understanding of project lifecycle methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Iterative, Agile/Scrum) and project management processes and standards
• Excellent verbal and written communications; ability to explain risks and issues to various levels within the organization
• Highly motivated with strong organizational (time management, planning, goal setting, tracking, etc.), analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills
• High level of professionalism and confidence with the ability to build credibility and work collaboratively with team members, leadership, Risk, Audit, IT, and business partners
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and effectively prioritize, drive, and execute tasks to completion within defined SLAs in a high-pressure environment
• Strong business and technology aptitude with a willingness to learn
