Content Designer - TikTok Design (San Jose)

About the Team The Content Design & Product Writing (CD&PW) team is responsible for creating clear, consistent, and engaging content that enhances user experiences across all of our products. As part of this effort, the team collaborates with various teams to ensure that content aligns with product goals and user needs, while maintaining high standards of quality and clarity.

The Role The TikTok Content Design & Product Writing team is made up of content designers and technical writers in the US, Singapore, and China who make TikTok easy to use for our diverse global audience. We re looking for a user experience (UX) Content Designer to collaborate closely with members of the TikTok Product Management, Design, User Research, Engineering, Legal and Localization teams to build products that captivate and engage our viewers and content creators.

Through clear, expressive writing, you ll transform product features and concepts so they re intuitive and easy to understand. As an advocate for our users, you ll use design thinking, empathy, and data to help shape and refine our product - identifying opportunities to build better user experiences. You have a strong intuition for writing clear and concise content that is easily translated and localized for our global audience.

Responsibilities

• Write high-quality UI text that is consistent, clear, and aligned with the TikTok brand to help users easily navigate our products
• Create effective content strategies, audits and other content-driven initiatives that meet business and user needs
• Work on complex product flows, feature enhancements, feature naming, error messages and notifications, and occasional emails
• Collaborate closely with, influence, and drive consensus with stakeholders to deliver timely, high-quality content deliverables.
• Contribute to our company s content standards and be a champion for best practices
• Manage and prioritize projects with multiple stakeholders across different time zones
• Work closely with the Localization team and linguists to ensure localizability Minimum Qualifications:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• 1+ years experience in content design for consumer-facing products.
• Have a writing portfolio that showcases how you ve conveyed complex and sometimes sensitive content to both experienced and new users.
• Experience collaborating with Product Management, Design, Engineering, and Localization teams.
• Experience using Figma.
• Self-starter who can manage multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on a global product with international partners in different time zones
• Experience with UX research/testing.
• Entrepreneurial attitude, ability to deal with rapid changes to priority, scope, and people.
• Strong interest in social app products, user and influencer behavior, and associated trends.
