Position Title: Marketing Communications Specialist II Location: Hybrid - Vienna, VA Clearance Requirements: None Position Status: Contract w2 Pay Rate: $50/hr on w2

Position Description: We are seeking a Marketing Communications Specialist II to create compelling, high-impact copy and content across digital and traditional channels. This role is ideal for a strategic communicator and skilled copywriter who can translate complex business and marketing objectives into clear, engaging, and brand-aligned messaging.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute marketing campaigns, support product launches, and ensure consistent brand voice across all touchpoints. This role requires a strong understanding of SEO/SEM, digital marketing, brand storytelling, and content strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop clear, concise, and compelling copy for digital marketing campaigns, web content, email, advertising, and product marketing initiatives.
  • Translate marketing strategies and business objectives into consumer-friendly messaging that drives engagement and conversion.
  • Ensure all communications align with brand voice, tone, and messaging standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, and marketing teams to deliver cohesive, high-quality campaigns.
  • Create and execute content strategies across multiple channels including web, email, and paid media.
  • Optimize content using SEO/SEM best practices to improve search visibility and performance.
  • Analyze campaign performance and metrics to refine messaging and improve effectiveness.
  • Support marketing plans, campaign execution, and editorial calendars.
  • Contribute to and maintain brand guidelines, messaging frameworks, and style guides.
  • Provide editorial review, proofreading, and quality assurance for all marketing materials.
  • Present campaign concepts, messaging strategies, and results to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accessibility (ADA), and corporate standards.
  • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.

Required Skills/Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years of experience in copywriting, marketing communications, or content strategy.
  • Proven experience creating copy for digital channels (web, email, paid media, social).
  • Strong understanding of brand voice, storytelling, and audience engagement.
  • Experience with SEO/SEM optimization and content performance metrics.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, customer-focused messaging.
  • Experience working in collaborative environments with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Workfront or similar project management platforms, and standard PC applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial services, banking, or regulated industries.
  • Background in agency or fast-paced creative environments.
  • Experience developing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and digital analytics tools.
