Content & Digital Communications InternCommitment: 40 Total Hours Position OverviewAs a Content & Digital Communications Intern, you will support digitalLIFT's efforts to increase awareness of our work and engage key audiences through strategic content. During your 40-hour service-learning commitment, you will help create and improve content for digitalLIFT's website, blog, social media, and other digital communications. This role is ideal for a student interested in content marketing, communications, digital strategy, nonprofit marketing, or social impact.Key ResponsibilitiesContent Planning: Work with the digitalLIFT team to identify priority content topics and develop a short-term content plan based on organizational goals and target audiences.Content Creation: Research, write, and edit a selection of content such as blog posts, website copy, social media posts, email content, or other communications materials.SEO & Search Optimization: Conduct basic keyword research and recommend opportunities to improve website and blog content for search engines and AI-driven discovery.Content Review: Review existing digitalLIFT content and identify opportunities to improve clarity, consistency, messaging, and audience engagement.Performance Review: Review available content and engagement data and provide recommendations for future content based on audience engagement and performance.Suggested 40-Hour Project Structure Hours 1–5: Orientation & Content ReviewLearn about digitalLIFT's mission, programs, audiences, and existing communicationsReview current website, blog, and social media contentIdentify priority content opportunities Hours 6–10: Content PlanningDevelop a short-term content planIdentify priority topics and target audiencesConduct basic keyword or topic research Hours 11–30: Content CreationCreate and/or revise priority content piecesPotential deliverables may include:2–3 blog postsWebsite content updatesA social media content packageEmail or newsletter contentOther communications materials based on organizational needs Hours 31–35: Optimization & ReviewReview content for SEO, clarity, and consistencyMake recommended revisions based on feedbackPrepare content for publication Hours 36–40: Final RecommendationsProvide a brief summary of completed workDocument recommendations for future content opportunitiesShare suggestions for improving content strategy and audience engagementExpected DeliverablesBy the end of the 40-hour commitment, the intern will complete a mutually agreed-upon set of deliverables, which may include a combination of written content, website recommendations, social media materials, keyword research, and a short content strategy or recommendations document. This structure allows flexibility while ensuring the internship has clear, achievable outcomes within a 40-hour timeframe.
