Description
Our client, a digital media company based in Oakland, is hiring a part-time Content Marketing Specialist to support their growing content and communications team. This hybrid role offers approximately 20 hours per week with scheduling flexibility across weekday mornings and afternoons.
The position focuses on producing written content across multiple channels, including blog posts, social media, and email campaigns. The specialist will work closely with the marketing and design teams to maintain a consistent brand voice and ensure content aligns with campaign goals and editorial calendars.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in content creation, a working knowledge of SEO best practices, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision. This is a structured part-time role with consistent hours, not a freelance or per-project engagement.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain monthly content calendars for blog and social media channels
Write, edit, and proofread articles, web copy, and email marketing content
Collaborate with designers to brief and review visual content assets
Schedule and publish posts across social media platforms using scheduling tools
Track content performance metrics and prepare brief weekly reports
Research industry topics and competitor content to inform editorial strategy
Support the marketing team with campaign launches and content updates
Ensure all published content adheres to brand guidelines and style standards
Requirements
2 or more years of experience in content marketing, copywriting, or a related role
Strong written communication skills with careful attention to grammar and style
Proficiency with a content management system such as WordPress
Experience using social media scheduling platforms such as Buffer or Hootsuite
Familiarity with basic SEO principles including keyword usage and metadata
Ability to manage deadlines and deliver work independently
Comfort using Google Analytics or similar tools to review content performance
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field
