Description

Our client, a digital media company based in Oakland, is hiring a part-time Content Marketing Specialist to support their growing content and communications team. This hybrid role offers approximately 20 hours per week with scheduling flexibility across weekday mornings and afternoons.

The position focuses on producing written content across multiple channels, including blog posts, social media, and email campaigns. The specialist will work closely with the marketing and design teams to maintain a consistent brand voice and ensure content aligns with campaign goals and editorial calendars.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in content creation, a working knowledge of SEO best practices, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision. This is a structured part-time role with consistent hours, not a freelance or per-project engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain monthly content calendars for blog and social media channels
  • Write, edit, and proofread articles, web copy, and email marketing content
  • Collaborate with designers to brief and review visual content assets
  • Schedule and publish posts across social media platforms using scheduling tools
  • Track content performance metrics and prepare brief weekly reports
  • Research industry topics and competitor content to inform editorial strategy
  • Support the marketing team with campaign launches and content updates
  • Ensure all published content adheres to brand guidelines and style standards

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of experience in content marketing, copywriting, or a related role
  • Strong written communication skills with careful attention to grammar and style
  • Proficiency with a content management system such as WordPress
  • Experience using social media scheduling platforms such as Buffer or Hootsuite
  • Familiarity with basic SEO principles including keyword usage and metadata
  • Ability to manage deadlines and deliver work independently
  • Comfort using Google Analytics or similar tools to review content performance
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay ranging from $28 to $38 based on experience
  • Flexible part-time schedule averaging 20 hours per week
  • Hybrid work arrangement with two to three days on-site per week
  • Paid sick leave in compliance with California state law
  • Access to professional development resources and industry tools
  • Inclusive and collaborative team culture
  • Opportunity to build a portfolio across multiple content formats
  • Employee discounts on company media products and subscriptions
