Content Producer Responsibilities

Content producers are responsible for ensuring consistent and accurate management and maintenance of Kaplan's educational content. This includes using Kaplan's content management systems and development tools to structure, organize, edit, update and maintain content. Content producers also assist in the development of new and revised print and electronic materials in our securities product line, including online courses, textbooks, live online classroom materials, on-demand videos, and other online-delivered products.

Primary/Key Responsibilities

Partner with the content manager and subject-matter experts to create and review course curriculum and related materials (digital/print books, exams, videos, etc.), ensuring accuracy and consistency through strong content governance (e.g. proofing workflows, style-guide adherence, and version control). (End Result: Ensure projects are completed accurately and meet the original product scope and on-time.)

Manage content within our content management system and related tools, including structuring materials, organizing content, and updating existing content for accuracy, consistency and quality. Familiarity with DITA or XML is a plus. (End Result: Our course content is efficiently organized and maintained)

Update and adapt course content for delivery in print, online platforms, and in the live online classroom setting. This includes making edits in applicable content management systems (e.g., Oxygen, Alfresco). (End Result: Reuse of content across multiple delivery platforms and product offerings increases our efficiency and improves our user experience)

Work with product management on course builds and setup, and applicable functionality/QA reviews. (End Result: Course content is up to date and released in a timely manner)

Assist product and content leaders to meet and exceed client expectations by maintaining content, expeditiously troubleshooting content issues, and implementing content-related product changes. (End Result: Maintain long-term client relationships by being responsive to client requests)

Proactively identify problems and resolutions and seek out new procedures and technologies that improve quality of materials and efficiency of processes. (End Result: Lean processes, maintain customer-focus, and bring products to market faster)

Manage projects and timelines in a deadline-driven environment with shifting priorities.

Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree in English, journalism, communications, or related field OR 3 years equivalent related experience

2+ years in Publishing, journalism, technical editor, content development, or related field. Project management experience is a plus.

Proficient in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite - in particular, Word, Excel and PowerPoint (specifically skills to create effective slide presentations)

Experience using content management systems is preferred

Experience with utilizing GenAI tools to assist in content development is preferred

Experience with XML tagging, DITA or related content architectures is a plus

Highly detail-oriented with ability to ensure quality and consistency across content library.

Excellent organization and time management skills to be able to manage multiple projects concurrently.

English literacy skills (including proper grammar) for proofing/editing content

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Strong problem-solving skills

Ability to interpret data & reports

Resourceful with strong customer service-oriented approach

Experience in the creation and production of video-based learning is a plus

Knowledge of securities industry or Kaplan content and product processes is a plus

For full-time positions, Kaplan has three salary grades. This position is Salary Grade A: $31,200 to $78,647. The specific compensation offered will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, education, skills, and market data.
