Normal Work Schedule: Flexible; Monday - Friday 8:00am to 8:00pm, at least 6 hours per week

Job Summary: The Content Tutor for the Bill Battle Academic Center tutors/teaches course content. Guides students in meeting academic deadlines. Assists in the development of general study, planning, and time-management skills. Reviews, discusses, and explains course material in a clear, effective, and creative manner. Conducts test review sessions. Assists entering freshmen, continuing, and international students.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Current University of Alabama junior, senior, or graduate student with a minimum 3.50 GPA. Direct experience mentoring, tutoring, or teaching. Sufficient academic knowledge of college undergraduate courses in one or more areas, including but not limited to Business (AC, EC, FI, MKT, MGT, OM, MIS), Computer Science, Engineering, English (composition & literature), Foreign Language, Humanities, Social Science, Math, and Natural Science.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ability to work a minimum of 6 hours a week.

Skills and Knowledge: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Blackboard, and MyBama.

Preferred Qualifications: Graduate Student. Experience as a tutor, University Instructor, or Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA).

Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
