Job Description
Job Title: Content Tutor, Student-Athlete Academic Services
Department: Learning Resources for Student Athletes
Employment Type: Temporary | Nonexempt | Part-Time
Hourly Rate: Salary commensurate with relevant experience.
Hours per week: ~10/hrs, per week
Content Tutors facilitate the learning process by providing content-based knowledge, study strategies, and time management support. CTs provide academic assistance by reviewing concepts and helping students develop academic and study strategy skills. Tutors may work with students individually or in groups.
CTs must possess strong subject knowledge, effective communication skills, patience, and the ability to motivate students to become self-sufficient learners. Tutors must assist students through multiple time demands, distractions, and commitments while working alongside other hourly and full-time SAAS colleagues. Furthermore, CTs must work with students from diverse backgrounds, including those with learning disabilities or other unique academic challenges.
Requirements:
Available for a minimum of 4 hours over at least two days/nights, Sunday - Thursday
Ability to work with a diverse population of students
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of student information and share information only with authorized
SAAS personnel in accordance with University policy and FERPA requirements
Demonstrated understanding and adherence to principles of ethical conduct
