Reports To: Program Manager for Professional Training and Development, Military and WIOA Career Assistance, Advanced Placement Summer Institute, Customized Training.
Job Location: El Paso, Texas

Hours: up to 40 hours per week. Positions are temporary due to course schedules- Work schedule, hourly rate, and benefits eligibility will vary.
FLSA status: Exempt
Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Position Summary
The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Professional and Public Programs (P3) is seeking an experienced Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt to serve as an instructor for professional development and business training programs. The instructor will provide practical, industry focused instruction to adult learners seeking to develop or advance their Lean Six Sigma knowledge and process improvement skills.
The ideal candidate will have advanced Lean Six Sigma expertise, significant experience applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies in organizational settings, and the ability to translate complex concepts into engaging, practical learning experiences.
Develop and deliver engaging Lean Six Sigma instruction for adult professional learners.
Teach Lean Six Sigma concepts, methodologies, tools, and techniques at the appropriate level for the course.
Provide instruction in areas such as DMAIC, process improvement, root cause analysis, process mapping, statistical analysis, waste reduction, variation reduction, and continuous improvement.
Incorporate real-world case studies, examples, exercises, and practical applications into instruction.
Guide participants in applying Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies to workplace challenges and improvement projects.
Develop or adapt course materials, activities, assessments, and lesson plans in accordance with P3 course objectives and requirements.
Provide an approved syllabus outlining course objectives, learning outcomes, instructional methodology, and required materials.
Deliver instruction in a professional learning environment that encourages participation, collaboration, and application of concepts.
Evaluate participant progress and provide appropriate feedback.
Encourage and review course evaluations and make recommendations to improve course delivery.
Maintain current knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies, industry practices, and emerging process improvement trends.
Communicate regularly with the P3 Program Manager regarding course content, instructional needs, and program development.
Participate in instructor orientation and professional development activities as requested.
Teach courses in a variety of formats, including in-person, online, and/or hybrid, and at various times, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Education: Master Black Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma from a recognized professional organization.
and
Experience: Significant professional experience applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies in business, industry, government, healthcare, manufacturing, or another relevant organizational setting.
Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles, methodologies, and tools.
Experience working with adult learners in a training, instructional, consulting, or professional development environment.
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree
Experience teaching Lean, Six Sigma, Green Belt, Black Belt, or Master Black Belt programs.
Experience developing or delivering professional certification or workforce development programs.
Experience applying Lean Six Sigma within multiple industries or organizational environments.
Experience using process improvement and statistical software or other relevant analytical tools.
Experience delivering online or hybrid professional education.
Experience consulting with organizations on process improvement, operational efficiency, quality management, or continuous improvement initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to explain Lean Six Sigma concepts clearly to adult learners with varying levels of experience.
Ability to connect Lean Six Sigma theory to practical workplace applications.
Ability to facilitate hands-on exercises, case studies, simulations, and project-based learning.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to engage and motivate professional learners.
Ability to use instructional technology and online teaching platforms effectively.
Ability to work independently while adhering to UTEP P3 policies, procedures, and instructional standards.
