About the team: The Delivery Engineering Team is responsible for ensuring successful customer deployments and long-term automation performance across Formic's growing fleet. Working cross-functionally, the team drives deployment execution, system reliability, and continuous improvement across deployed robotic cells.
Delivery Engineering operates at the intersection of robotics, controls, and real-world factory environments, supporting installations, resolving complex escalations, and reducing friction across vendors, equipment, and deployment workflows. The team works across a variety of robotic equipment and OEMs, strengthening Formic's ability to deploy automation at scale while delivering consistent customer outcomes.
About the role: As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will drive operational excellence across Formic's deployed robotic systems. You will identify recurring performance gaps, deployment inefficiencies, and workflow friction, then implement structured improvements that increase reliability, standardization, and customer impact.
This role blends field insight with analytical rigor. You will work closely with technical teams and customers to turn real-world feedback into measurable system improvements that strengthen uptime, reduce rework, and improve deployment quality across the fleet.
In this role you will:
• Gather and synthesize customer and field feedback to identify systemic improvement opportunities • Translate recurring issues into structured initiatives with clear ownership and measurable outcomes • Analyze deployment and operational workflows to identify inefficiencies and failure patterns • Develop and implement process changes that improve reliability, standardization, and performance • Partner cross-functionally to ensure improvement initiatives are executed and sustained • Track key performance metrics to measure impact and inform decision-making • Document updated processes, standards, and best practices to improve repeatability • Promote structured problem-solving and a culture of continuous improvement
What makes you a great fit: 4+ years of experience in process improvement, operations, industrial engineering, or a related technical environment
Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills
Ability to translate ambiguous field feedback into clear, actionable improvement plans
Comfort working in manufacturing, robotics, or industrial environments
Ability to influence without direct authority across cross-functional teams
Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other structured improvement methodologies
Bonus points if you have:
• Experience working with robotic systems, automation vendors, or systems integrators • Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or industrial automation environments • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or similar frameworks • Experience using data analysis or visualization tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI
