Our North Dallas client is seeking an experienced Interim Accounts Payable Manager to join their accounting team on a contract basis. Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and mentor an Accounts Payable team of eight professionals
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable department
- Manage escalated vendor, invoice, and payment issues and ensure timely resolution
- Monitor workflow, prioritize responsibilities, and keep the team on track to meet deadlines
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment and help improve team engagement and morale
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive operational efficiencies
- Partner with accounting and cross-functional teams to support business needs
- Assist with invoice processing as needed during peak periods, while remaining focused primarily on leadership and team support
- Help ensure timely, accurate, and efficient execution of the full accounts payable cycle
Qualifications
- Previous experience leading or managing an Accounts Payable team
- Strong understanding of the full accounts payable process in a high-volume environment
- Proven ability to coach, develop, and motivate team members
- Experience resolving complex AP issues and balancing multiple priorities
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to quickly build relationships and make an immediate impact
- Experience working with large ERP systems is preferred
Additional Information
- Hybrid schedule
- Team processes approximately 15,000 invoices per month
- Some overtime may be required during peak periods
- Immediate start preferred
- Contract assignment with the potential to extend based on business needs
