You do not need to come in as an expert. We are looking for someone with strong business judgment, attention to detail, clear communication skills, and the drive to learn how Department of Defense contracts are managed the right way.This is not a paper-pushing role. This is a career-building seat where contracts meet mission. You will learn how compliance, documentation, customer requirements, internal operations, and contract execution all come together to support critical defense work.If you are a recent college graduate, early-career professional, or someone with a background in business administration, communications, pre-law, finance, government, or operations, this role could be a strong entry point into a high-demand field.What You Will Learn and SupportYou will support the administration of Veilant's Department of Defense contracts while learning the full contract lifecycle from award through execution and closeout. You will work closely with Program Managers, Project Managers, finance, leadership, and other internal stakeholders to help keep contract activity organized, compliant, accurate, and on track.Over time, you will develop hands‑on experience with government contracting concepts, contract documentation, compliance requirements, contract modifications, deliverable tracking, and internal contract processes.This role is designed for someone we can develop into a rising star within contracts management.What You Will Own Over TimeAs you grow in the role, you will begin supporting and eventually owning key areas such as:Maintaining accurate contract files, records, and administrative documentationSupporting contract setup, tracking, reporting, and internal coordinationAssisting with contract modifications, task orders, deliverables, and deadlinesLearning how FFP, IDIQ, and Task Order contracts operateHelping ensure documentation aligns with internal processes and government requirementsSupporting communication between contracts, programs, finance, and operationsDeveloping an understanding of FAR, DFARS, and DOD compliance expectationsBuilding strong working relationships with Program Managers and Project ManagersIn Your First 6 Months, You WillDevelop a strong understanding of Veilant's contracts portfolio and how our DOD work is structuredLearn our contract administration processes, tools, workflows, and documentation standardsSupport the organization and maintenance of contract files and key compliance recordsBegin assisting with Independent Contractor processes and related administrative trackingBuild trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, especially Program Managers and Project ManagersGain exposure to FAR, DFARS, FFP contracts, IDIQ vehicles, Task Orders, and other core government contracting conceptsDemonstrate strong attention to detail, follow-through, and the ability to manage sensitive information responsiblyQualificationsMust HavesBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Pre‑Law, Finance, Government, Public Administration, or a related fieldStrong written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skillsAbility to manage deadlines, documentation, and multiple priorities with accuracyInterest in building a career in government contracting, contract administration, or contracts managementProfessional judgment, discretion, and willingness to learn compliance‑driven processesAbility to work collaboratively with internal teams, including program, project, finance, and leadership stakeholdersAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearanceU.S. citizenship, as required for security clearance eligibilityNice to HavesInternship, coursework, or professional exposure related to contracts, business operations, legal administration, procurement, finance, or government programs2 to 5 years of contract administration experience supporting DOD portfoliosExperience managing or supporting FFP and IDIQ/Task Order contractsWorking knowledge of FAR and DFARSActive Secret clearance or higherPrior experience with a prime defense contractorBachelor's degree in Contract Management or a closely related disciplineNCMA certification, such as CPCM or CFCM, or interest in pursuing certificationExperience with contract management systems such as Deltek or similar platformsFamiliarity with government property, subcontract management, or independent contractor administrationWho Will Thrive in This RoleYou will do well here if you are curious, precise, dependable, and motivated by work that matters.
