With a staff of 950+ and an annual budget of $140 million, Project Renewal is one of the larger social service nonprofits in New York City.Title: Contract AnalystProgram: FinanceSalary Range: $85,000 - $95,000Overall Responsibilities Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Grants the position is responsible for the accounting and reporting of a portfolio of grants representing specific service deliveries to targeted populations. Also, managing State and City A/R Tracker and Portals (Shelter Management Systems (SMS, Grant Gateway, Certified Budget Report CBR).Essential Duties And Responsibilities Analysis of monthly expenditures of federal, state and city grants budget to actual reporting on government grants and contractsWorking closely with program directors in planning and preparing annual budget modifications, as neededPreparation of monthly closing entries and requests for reimbursementCommunication with the applicable funding sourcesPreparation and analysis of grant funded program profit and loss statements, variance analysisProgram budget developmentJournal entries for grant personnel, fringe benefits and OTPS expendituresGrant closeouts and adjusting entries, as necessaryAnalyze general ledger accounts related to contracts and grantsPrepare periodic analyses throughout the year to estimate projected annual spendingCollaborating with the Assistant Director of Grants in managing the State & City A/R Tracker per Agency fundersDocument preparation for audits and desk reviews of city, state, federal grants, and contractsAssist with preparing Organization annual audit schedules and gathering documentation as requested by auditorsUpdating State and City monthly invoice trackerAssist with Fiscal Year Budgets Annual ReviewOther projects as assigned by the Assistant DirectorQualifications Minimum 5 years' experience in grants or general accountingProficiency with Microsoft Office, City Passport Portal, Sage Intacct and general ledger accounting softwareBachelor's degree in Accounting or Related FieldPreferred Qualifications Experience working in a Not-for-Profit agencyExperience working with New York City contracts with the Department of Homeless Services, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and Human Resource Administration in the NYC HHS Accelerator system and through the NYC Payee Information Portal.Strong attention to detail as well as solid organization/time management skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks concurrentlyExperience working with contracts with the New York State Office of Mental Health and using the New York State Grants Gateway system.Experience with the preparation of the New York State Consolidated Fiscal ReportKnowledge and experience with the reporting functions of the Intacct accounting and financial management softwareProject Renewal is an equal opportunity employer.
