The Springfield-Greene County Health Department is seeking a Contract Community Health Advocate to work with mental health and substance use.

The Community Health Advocate will work to improve health outcomes by connecting individuals to resources that address mental health and substance use. This position will engage with community members to identify barriers to care, provide education and navigation support, and strengthen connections between individuals, service providers, and community partners. This position will support initiatives that promote recovery, resilience, and overall well-being across the community.

This position is open until filled but applications received by March 13th, 2026 are guaranteed review.

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience, Education, and Training

  • At least two years of college or vocational education in a Public Health Discipline or related field;

AND

  • One year of related work experience;
  • Directly related work experience can be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Licensing/Certification

  • If operating a motor vehicle during the course of performing job duties, must possess a valid Drivers License, and provide required liability coverage.
