Description and Requirements Role Value Proposition This role is primarily responsible for ensuring annuity contracts accurately capture MetLifes promises to its customers reflect business and operational capabilities and intentions and comply with relevant regulatory requirements to enable MetLifes purpose: "Always With You Building a More Confident Future".

Retirement and Income Solutions RIS is a part of MetLifes U.S. Business and issues products for transferred pension liabilities, stable value institutional income annuities, benefits funding, and structured settlements. As part of the RIS Contracts team, this role works closely with the product sales, pricing, implementation, operations, and legal teams to develop and file contracts and related documents for pension risk transfer, institutional income annuities, and structured settlements products.

Key Responsibilities Prepare complex and detailed documentation, including proposals, commitment agreements, annuity contracts, and annuity certificates for prospective pension risk transfer opportunities in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

Prepare documentation for state insurance regulatory filings, timely and accurately respond to insurance regulators questions and requests, and negotiate approvals with state insurance departments for complex annuity products.

Draft and coordinate the development of separate account memos of operation filed with state insurance regulators.

Facilitate state insurance department and Interstate Insurance Compact regulatory filings using the SERFF electronic filing system and abide by RIS recordkeeping requirements.

Develop and issue forms for complex annuity contracts to support new and existing annuities products within RIS.

Maintain forms to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Assist in the analysis of proposed and enacted laws and regulations to identify required compliance activities.

Perform due diligence in analysis of critical new product ventures and effectively communicate implications to stakeholders.

Participate in complex non-standard assignments and devise targeted solutions.

Expertly collaborate with various internal MetLife departments and ensure efforts are coordinated to achieve common objectives.

Research and respond to internal business partner questions regarding contract features and compliance.

Assist with cross-functional projects and special initiatives requiring project management skills as required.

Support the adoption and utilization of the contracts management platform Icertis.

Provide support to other RIS Contracts teams as needed.

Required Experience and Skills Bachelors degree and 2 years relevant experience - or equivalent business experience of 4 years.

Competent level contract knowledge and technical writing skills.

Knowledge of annuities business, particularly pension risk transfer, institutional income annuities, and/or structured settlements, qualified defined benefit plans, qualified defined contribution plans, and/or ERISA.

Strong analytical problem-solving and research skills with attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.

Self-motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic with strong interpersonal relationship skills to maintain positive working relationships with peers, leaders, and business partners.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to engage constructively with associates of various disciplines and levels as well as with state insurance department regulators.

Solutions-oriented and customer-focused.

Strong interest in identifying and researching opportunities for continuous improvement, including digital-automated business solutions, integrating technology and process improvements.

Willingness to learn and develop skills across a multi-disciplined contracts team and share knowledge as appropriate.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, e.g., Outlook, OneDrive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint, and Teams.

Preferred Experience 5 years of contract development, compliance, legal, or relevant business experience.

JD, MBA, or Finance degree.

Understanding of the insurance industry and product lines.

Knowledge of the regulatory requirements and procedures for the development and filing of compliant contract forms associated with annuities business.

Location Expectation This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

Expected Salary Range: $73,000 - $97,400

This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
