The Opportunity

This role is essential to the smooth operation of the firm s administrative functions. As a Legal Administrative Assistant, you will collaborate with legal teams and attorneys to ensure work is properly allocated and completed on time in support of strategic initiatives. This is a 3 6 month temp-to-perm contract opportunity.

The Location

This position offers a hybrid work schedule and can be based in the Los Angeles, San Diego, or Seattle office. The specific arrangement of remote and in-office work is determined in coordination with the hiring manager.

What You Will Do

  • Practice Support: Provide specific support to associates and partners by leveraging knowledge of unique practice tasks and prioritizing work accordingly.
  • Document Management: Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents, communications, and presentations to ensure total accuracy.
  • Information Governance: Assist with day-to-day records management, ensuring content is stored in approved repositories and assisting with proactive matter close-out activities.
  • Workflow Coordination: Organize and monitor assignments within the firm s workflow tool, including time entry, expense reimbursements, and overseeing billing matters.
  • Team Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between attorneys and various firm resources while providing mentorship and delegation to Legal Support Assistants (LSAs)

Who You Are

  • Experienced: You have at least 2 years of experience in a legal setting or a professional services environment.
  • Technically Proficient: You have prior experience with Microsoft Office and legal software such as iManage, Aderant, or DocXTools.
  • Adaptable: You thrive in fast-paced environments, stay positive under pressure, and are willing to learn new skills to support evolving practice needs.
  • Strong Communicator: You can communicate effectively via email and voice and are proficient with virtual collaboration tools like Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Detail-Oriented: You possess excellent problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail.

The Ideal Candidate holds a Bachelor s Degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field. You are a "trusted advisor" who can handle confidential or sensitive matters with discretion. You have a general familiarity with legal terminology and prior experience in workflow-management roles.

Flexibility & Work-Life Integration

This role supports a hybrid work arrangement. As a non-exempt position, it is paid on an hourly basis with overtime paid in accordance with applicable laws. The role involves both sedentary activity, such as working at a computer for extended periods, and active participation in virtual or in-person meetings.
