Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Contract Manager include assisting the Director, Contracting Services, and in direct coordination with the Purchasing Services staff, in the development of RFPs and RFIs, contract negotiation, GPO contract compliance and oversight, data analysis, maintenance of contract documentation and files, and coordination of product standardization efforts across Mercy Health Services in support of the Value Analysis Committee. This position requires the ability to work effectively with clinicians, medical staff, and management to facilitate cost containment efforts throughout the organization involving medical and non-medical supplies. The Contract Manager reports to the Director, Contracting Services • Guided by policies and procedures and with supervision from the Director, Contracting Services, the Contract Manager assists in determining the supply and service resources which offer MHS the greatest value. The Contract Manager researches and develops background data to support the negotiation of purchasing agreements with vendors for supplies, services, and equipment for the system.
