Contract Manager

Contract Manager (Direct Hire)
Bay Area, CA | Full-Time, In Office | Salary: $100-120k DOE

Agility Recruiting is partnering with a well-established, family-owned construction contractor to hire a Contract Manager. This is a leadership role for someone who can build and run a contracts and compliance department, not just review documents.

What you'll do

• Manage the full contract process for both incoming and outgoing contracts, working with subcontractors and suppliers from first draft to final execution
• Lead and develop a small team of contracts and claims assistants
• Oversee compliance, including subcontractor insurance certificates and certified payroll tracking
• Work closely with Estimating, Project Management, and in-house legal counsel

What we're looking for

- Bachelor's degree in law, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

- 3-5 years of contract administration or contract management experience, ideally in construction.

- Experience leading a team and overseeing department operations.

- Strong understanding of contract law, including construction lien and payment notice rules.

- Working knowledge of commercial insurance and how claims are handled, including general liability.

- Knowledge of DBE compliance requirements.

- Sound judgment and the ability to analyze complex contracts and claims, spot issues, and make the call.

- Strong negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills.

- Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.

- Experience with contract management software or tools.
