Bishop & Company is searching for a Contract Manager -Purchasing for a great client. This role oversees vendors to ensure they deliver on all procurement and contract requirements.

Essential Functions:
Strategic Sourcing
- Develop and use category management strategies to reduce costs and support company goals.
- Lead competitive bidding, vendor selection, and pricing negotiations.
- Build strong vendor relationships and choose the best procurement approach for each situation.
- Use SAP to track and manage contracted pricing through Outline Agreements and Source Lists.
Contract Compliance
- Understand contract terms to ensure proper risk management.
- Work with internal teams to resolve contract disputes or claims.
- Negotiate and recommend contract terms and commercial conditions.
- Coordinate contract reviews with vendors, legal, risk management, and other internal groups.
- Use Ariba and ISNetworld to track vendor compliance with all contract requirements.
Transactional Support
- Partner with Buyers, Supply Chain Clerks, and Accounting to resolve purchase order or invoice issues.
- Communicate with vendors or internal teams to confirm job scope, pricing, schedules, freight, quantities, and payment terms.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain high professional standards and ensure compliance with audit, SOX, and ethical guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include:
- Supporting emergency response activities.
- Investigating and resolving purchase order or invoice discrepancies (pricing, quantities, units, surcharges, descriptions, etc.).
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge
- Understanding of purchasing, contract administration, negotiation, project management, cost estimating, scheduling, and procurement processes.
- Basic knowledge of electric utility operations, maintenance, and construction.
- Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with relevant federal and state regulations, especially safety and environmental rules.
Skills
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills; high attention to detail.
- Effective negotiation, interpersonal, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Ability to lead and work with diverse groups, including in sensitive situations.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage complex workloads.
- Self directed, able to handle high volumes of work with minimal supervision.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in purchasing or contract/project administration, ideally in the electric utility industry or related fields (construction, engineering, operations, maintenance)
Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $79,600-$101,600 annually. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
