This is an entry-level position responsible for performing routine on-site inspections of construction projects to support the monitoring of contracted construction activities, ensuring project progress and compliance with approved plans and specifications. The position assists with constructability reviews by examining construction documents to identify discrepancies, recommends improvements, and suggests cost-saving measures. Work also involves maintaining accurate and organized project records, logs, and documentation for reporting and reference purposes. The position also assists in reviewing applicable codes, ordinances, regulations, and technical materials to ensure adherence to established standards and requirements. The selected candidate will utilize a variety of tools, equipment, and computer systems in the performance of assigned duties and provide flexible support by performing other related work as required within the scope of the position.

The Department of the Environment works for a healthy, beautiful and sustainable County through programs that provide clean water, flood control, recycling and waste management, litter prevention, sustainable animal management and pet adoption in partnership with residents and other stakeholders. Some of our core services include providing clean water services (Stormwater Management Division); flooding prevention for buildings and structures (Sustainability Division and Stormwater Management Division); collecting, processing and diverting waste from the County-operated landfill, commercial facilities and householders (Resource Recovery Division); providing sustainability services to reduce greenhouse gas and emission (Sustainability Division); and facilitating pet adoptions, managing an animal holding facility, issuing pet licenses, investigating cruelty complaints and conducting humane outreach and education events (Animal Services Division).
