Contract Sales Executive - Commercial Foodservice Equipment - Base Salary to 100k/year - Spring Valley, NY
Our client, an established provider of commercial kitchen equipment, design, and installation solutions, has an immediate need for an experienced Contract Sales Executive to join its team.
This position is based in the New York tri-state area. The selected candidate will initially work from the company’s Rockland County office during training and onboarding, with greater flexibility once established.
This is a project-focused contract sales position rather than a transactional equipment-sales role. Responsibilities:
Review construction drawings, specifications, foodservice plans, equipment schedules, addenda, bid documents, and bid packages
Evaluate incoming commercial kitchen and foodservice-equipment opportunities and determine which projects to pursue
Develop project bid strategies based on contractor relationships, competition, equipment specifications, pricing, labor requirements, and manufacturer support
Partner with the estimating and preconstruction teams to prepare accurate and competitive proposals
Review proposals for scope, exclusions, alternates, substitutions, labor requirements, and value-engineering opportunities
Communicate with manufacturers regarding project-specific pricing, discounts, substitutions, equipment specifications, and availability
Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, estimators, project managers, project executives, owners, developers, architects, and foodservice consultants
Participate in bid reviews, bid leveling, scope leveling, de-scope meetings, scope comparisons, and contract negotiations
Follow up after proposal submission to address questions, clarify scope, and advance opportunities through the award process
Present proposals and negotiate pricing, scope, commercial terms, and contracts
Coordinate with project management and operations following award to support the transition from contract sales to project execution
Travel to contractor meetings, de-scope meetings, jobsites, and project locations as needed within the United States
Qualifications:
3+ years of relevant experience in commercial foodservice equipment, commercial kitchen construction, design-build, estimating, project management, preconstruction, or contract sales
Experience working directly with general contractors on substantial commercial or institutional construction projects
Understanding of commercial construction bidding and the general contractor decision-making process
Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, foodservice plans, equipment schedules, and bid documents
Working knowledge of bid leveling, scope leveling, de-scoping, scope exclusions, alternates, substitutions, value engineering, and change management
Understanding of how commercial kitchen equipment interfaces with electrical, plumbing, gas, HVAC, ventilation, framing, and field conditions
Ability to commute to the company’s Rockland County office during the initial training and onboarding period
Ability to travel within the United States as project needs require
Compensation:
Base salary in the 85k - 100k/year range
Established top performers can earn approximately 30k or more in total annual compensation
Mileage, tolls, airfare, rental vehicles, and other approved business-travel expenses are reimbursed
Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401k with company match following the eligibility period
