Contract Specialist IT Software

Location: Houston, Texas (On-Site)
Hybrid schedule of 1 day remote per week available following initial training period

Duration: 12-Month Contract with Possible Extension

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Contract Specialist III to support a growing Information Technology Software procurement team. This role will be responsible for the full lifecycle administration of IT software contracts, including solicitation, negotiation, execution, and post-award contract management.

The ideal candidate will possess strong experience negotiating complex software agreements, managing stakeholder relationships, and supporting procurement initiatives in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiation, execution, and administration of IT software-related agreements, including:
    • Master Agreements
    • Statements of Work (SOWs)
    • Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
    • Proof of Concept Agreements (POCs)
    • Additional software and technology procurement contracts
  • Manage day-to-day procurement and contracting activities supporting the IT Software organization
  • Conduct RFP activities utilizing the company s approved sourcing platform
  • Provide post-execution contract administration and ongoing supplier support
  • Assist with invoice resolution and contract compliance matters
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline contracting and procurement processes
  • Effectively manage multiple contract assignments while maintaining strong stakeholder engagement
  • Identify and mitigate procurement risks while supporting cost optimization initiatives without compromising value
  • Maintain accurate contract documentation and files in accordance with company retention policies
  • Support internal and external audit activities as required
  • Collaborate closely with Legal and internal business teams to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and corporate requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s Degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience negotiating and administering IT software contracts
  • Demonstrated experience with complex software agreements including Masters, SOWs, NDAs, and POCs
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive critical business decisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior procurement or contracting experience within the energy industry
  • Experience using SAP and Icertis contract management systems
  • Advanced understanding of IT software purchasing channels, including OEMs, resellers, and related vendor models
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
