Position Overview
We are seeking a Full-Time Contract Specialist to support the U.S. Coast Guard’s Aids to Navigation (ATON) Program. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the effective execution and administration of federal contracts that support safe and reliable waterways.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Contracting Officers with acquisition planning and execution
- Conduct market research for procurement actions
- Develop and issue RFPs, RFQs, and solicitations
- Evaluate proposals and assist in source selection activities
- Perform cost and price analysis and support negotiations
- Assist with contract administration, including modifications and compliance
- Process invoices and support payment activities
- Perform contract closeout activities
- Track milestones and provide progress updates
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of federal contracting experience (GS-1102 or equivalent)
- FAC-C Professional Certification (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
- Experience in both pre-award and post-award contracting
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Work Environment
- On-site work at U.S. Coast Guard, Norfolk, VA
- Standard business hours with occasional extended hours as needed
- No travel required
