The Chumash Learning Center offers a vibrant, welcoming place for Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians community members to gather for Homework Club and to encourage lifelong learning with Academic Tutor support. Students' drop-in to get assistance in various subjects to enhance their understanding and performance, in-person or remotely. Tutors encourage positive student behavior and participation during study and group activities.
Responsibilities:
- Tutoring in a one-on-one or group setting while assisting with homework assignments, projects and test preparation.
- Monitor and track student(s) progress, by providing regular feedback to the Education
- Department, student(s), parent(s).
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
- Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain a trusting and positive relationship with students and parents.
- Stay updated on curriculum changes
- CPR Training
- Follow confidentiality procedures.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or teaching credential issued
- Previous related experience working with children in a supervised setting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience and tact.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Must agree to a Live Scan background check.

$50.00 per hour
Maximum Pay Rate:
$60.00 per hour
