Job Description:The Contracts Agent supports the sourcing and contracting needs of the organization's business units and helps ensure the effective procurement and payment of goods and services.
This role manages contracting activities from cradle to grave, including sourcing, RFI/RFP processes, supplier evaluation, negotiations, contract drafting, contract administration, amendments, dispute resolution, and contract closeout.
The position works closely with internal business units, Legal, Risk Management, Accounting, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure contracts meet business requirements while appropriately managing commercial and contractual risk.
Key Responsibilities:- Support end-to-end sourcing and contracting activities from RFI/RFP through contract closeout.
- Advise internal customers on sourcing, procurement, contracting policies, and procedures.
- Lead RFI/RFP preparation, pre-bid meetings, offer evaluations, and cost/price analysis.
- Lead negotiations involving legal and commercial terms, pricing, risk allocation, and contract conditions.
- Draft and review contracts, Master Agreements, NDAs, amendments, Statements of Work, and special contract provisions.
- Ensure required terms and conditions are included in procurement documents.
- Work with Legal, Risk Management, Accounting, and business stakeholders to resolve contractual exceptions and issues.
- Conduct supplier research and market analysis and identify new sources of supply when required.
- Collect and maintain supplier information and compliance documentation, including safety records and certificates of insurance.
- Manage contract changes, claims, revisions, expediting, follow-up, and contract closeout.
- Resolve contractual conflicts and negotiate revisions during contract performance.
- Manage multiple contracts and projects simultaneously while meeting established turnaround times.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, internal customers, and management.
- Communicate contract terms, status, risks, and processes effectively to stakeholders at various organizational levels.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on procurement and contracting policies and procedures.
- Use sourcing, procurement, contracting, and payment systems such as GEP, Maximo, and Oracle.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve commercial terms, increase process efficiency, and eliminate duplication.
Required Skills:- Experience in procurement, sourcing, contracts, or commercial contracting preferred.
- Knowledge of contract law, contract formation, and contract drafting.
- Strong legal and commercial negotiation skills.
- Ability to review, interpret, and draft contractual language.
- Understanding risk assessment, liability, remedies, dispute resolution, and contract terms.

Education:- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Education in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Contract Management, Finance, Legal Studies, or a related field is beneficial.
- Formal education or professional experience involving contract language, procurement, or contract administration is preferred.
