The Control Desk Specialist plays a key role in supporting print and mail production operations. This position ensures outgoing mail is accurate, properly prepared, and compliant with operational standards. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a high-volume environment with strong quality assurance expectations.
Ability to read, write, and document operational issues clearly (Incident Reports).
Strong communication skills for interacting with management and internal client representatives.
High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and work quality.
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a diverse team environment.
Must be available to work weekends during quarterly peaks (January, April, July, October).
Reliability and consistency in following established procedures.
Handle print and mail output for delivery to US Government Client.
Perform quality checks on mail produced by insertion equipment, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Verify correct postage amounts and confirm proper envelopes/inserts were used.
Review processed counts and ensure they match instructions and production logs.
Conduct random audits to ensure mail pieces are sealed properly and window envelopes display addresses correctly.
Communicate discrepancies or issues to the Floor Supervisor promptly.
Open incident tickets for system or output-related issues.
Process reprints for damaged mail pieces via a web portal.
When needed, manually insert documents into envelopes or run mail through offline postage meters.
Assist with additional tasks as assigned by management.
