A Control System Technician / PLC Technician / Automation Technician is required to join an industry leader within mission-critical and hyperscale environments in Reno, NV.

The Control System Technician / PLC Technician / Automation will have hands-on experience with PLC systems such as Studio 5000, Allen Bradley, Siemens, and other control systems, along with expertise in system startups, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Package:

$60,000 - $90,000 (Dependent on experience)

PLC Technician / Automation Technician / Systems Technician Responsibilities:
  • Start-up, check-out, and commissioning of PLC-based building control systems
  • Troubleshoot, test, and calibrate HVAC, mechanical controls, and PLC systems
  • Make minor PLC code modifications and configure system elements (trend logs, alarms, graphics, and zones)
  • Record and update as-built drawings and control documentation related to PLC systems
  • Provide training on system usage and maintenance, including PLC programming basics
  • Collaborate with project engineers and technical teams during PLC installations and upgrades
  • Construct panels and prepare field documentation, including UL tags, check-out sheets, and redline drawings for PLC systems
  • Manage time effectively to ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget

PLC Technician / Automation Technician / Systems Technician Requirements:
  •   Associate degree in Applied Technology or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of PLC systems (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, Studio 5000), DDC control theory, mechanical/electrical systems, and field instrumentation
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on PLC systems
  • Comfortable with physical demands (lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, working in mechanical rooms)
  • Experience in HVAC, building automation, and PLC-based environments strongly preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
  • Resides within 45 minutes of Reno, NV
