Position Summary:
This position reports to Chief Financial Officer. This position is responsible for providing leadership, direction and administration of all aspects of hospital/multi-hospital activities and other corporate entities to ensure compliance with established objectives and the realization of quality, economical health care services and for other lines of business.
Responsibilities
- Maintains current working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Updates knowledge of GAAP through current literature, professional association and other publications.
- Responsible for the annual operating budget process for the hospital including collection of information, obtaining input from other Department Directors, and determining ways to accomplish budget goals efficiently and effectively.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate month-end reporting for the hospital, reviewing journal entries of accounting staff to ensure accuracy of month end financials.
- Be able to perform the responsibilities of Assistant Chief Financial Officer or Chief Financial Officer, if necessary.
- Be available for special and ongoing projects as required by CFO, Administration and Tenet Corporate Office.
- Responsible for administration of Accounting Department.
- Evaluates, counsels and develops accounting staff’s performance. Ensures that each staff member completes work per hospital productivity standards.
- Organizes and conducts in-services, identifies educational needs of accounting staff. Also, provides assistance to directors in financial related matters.
- Conducts monthly staff meetings with accounting department.
- Ensures completion and review of balance account reconciliation’s on a monthly basis. Ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
BA or BS with Accounting major or, equivalent education and experience
Master’s Degree or Certified Public Accountant preferred
Minimum Experience/Skills:
Three (3) or more years of experience as a supervisor;
Knowledge of the process for recording classifying and summarizing financial transactions and events
in accordance with established guidelines and generally accepted accounting principles;
Interprets results for users who must make economic or business decisions;
Includes the ability to analyze and maintain general ledgers, trial balances, and financial statements;
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to a specific subject area or function.
Licenses/Certificates/Credentials:
CPA highly desired

San Ramon Regional Medical Center
San Ramon Regional Medical Center has continued to provide increasingly advanced inpatient, outpatient, and 24-hour emergency services since its opening in 1990.
In 2011, San Ramon Regional opened its new 8,900-square-foot emergency department, expanding from nine to 16 beds, and featuring private treatment rooms, negative-pressure isolation room, dedicated X-ray suite, and a large comfortable waiting room.
The hospital Emergency Department is licensed with both Contra Costa County and Alameda County to receive ambulances through the 911 systems. San Ramon Regional is designated as a STEMI Receiving Center following protocols to receive and treat high-risk heart attack patients. In 2011, San Ramon Regional received The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval™ for certification as a Primary Stroke Center, and now serves as one of seven stroke receiving hospitals for Contra Costa Health services' new 911 emergency response system.
