Financial Controller
Oversee all daily accounting operations for multiple entities within a consolidated organization. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and regulatory reports. Ensure accurate and timely consolidation of financial results across multiple companies. Supervise the Accounting Manager and provide leadership for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Payroll functions. Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures. Coordinate annual financial statement audits and serve as the primary contact for external auditors. Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including sales and payroll tax requirements. Oversee job cost accounting, fixed asset accounting, and financial reporting related to construction projects. Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning initiatives. Partner with executive leadership to provide financial analysis and recommendations that support strategic business decisions. Ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements, including Davis-Bacon regulations where applicable. Continuously identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Master's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field with at least 10 years of relevant accounting experience; or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field with at least 15 years of relevant accounting experience. Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience within the construction industry, including consolidated financial reporting and job cost accounting. Strong background in construction accounting. Experience with ERP accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with job cost accounting and fixed asset accounting. Working knowledge of federal and state sales tax and payroll tax regulations. Understanding of construction cost burdening. Knowledge of prevailing wage requirements, including Davis-Bacon payroll regulations. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, make sound independent decisions, and lead a high-performing accounting team. CPA designation preferred but not required. Experience managing accounting operations for multiple entities or a consolidated corporate structure. Proven ability to improve accounting processes and implement best practices.
