Job Details

The Controller serves as the financial leader for a dynamic, multi-entity organization operating across sales, marketing, distribution, and sourcing functions. This role is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and providing strategic financial insights that support revenue growth, margin optimization, and operational efficiency.
Working closely with executive and operational leadership, the Controller plays a key role in driving profitability, managing financial risk, and supporting long-term business objectives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with timeliness and accuracy.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow) across multiple entities.
  • Manage multi-entity consolidations and financial reporting.
  • Oversee revenue recognition and related accounting activities.
  • Provide detailed variance analysis and insights into profitability, margins, and operating performance.

Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Partner with executive leadership on annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate growth opportunities and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity to support operational and investment needs.
  • Provide recommendations to improve financial performance and resource allocation.

Compliance & Internal Controls
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting, inventory, purchasing, and cash management.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.

Strategic Financial Leadership
  • Collaborate with leadership on pricing strategies, vendor relationships, and business growth initiatives.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support new business opportunities, partnerships, and investments.
  • Support merger, acquisition, and due diligence activities as needed.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies across the organization.

Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance personnel.
  • Foster collaboration across departments to support organizational goals.
  • Establish best practices, processes, and performance standards for the finance function.

Human Resources & Payroll
  • Support employee onboarding and related administrative processes.
  • Oversee payroll administration in partnership with third-party providers.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or similar leadership role.
  • Experience within consumer products, distribution, manufacturing, sourcing, professional services, or related industries preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with ERP and accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
  • Strong Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis capabilities.
