Responsibilities:

The Controller is responsible for leading the Accounting and Purchasing functions while ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective financial planning across the property.

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, and month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company standards.
  • Direct Purchasing operations, including review and approval of purchase orders and key financial transactions to ensure proper controls and alignment with budgetary guidelines.
  • Manage treasury functions, including cash flow management, forecasting, capital planning, wire transfers, and check signing authority, while maintaining strong internal controls and liquidity.
  • Lead preparation and delivery of financial reporting, including Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements, as well as coordination of annual audits and tax processes.
  • Own the annual budgeting process and multi-year capital planning, including monthly forecasting, variance analysis, and financial performance reporting to leadership.
  • Present monthly business reviews with actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Provide leadership to the Accounting team, including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Partner with departmental leaders to support financial accountability, operational efficiency, and timely receivables collection.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, corporate standards, and regulatory requirements while safeguarding company assets.
Qualifications:

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • 6–10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance leadership roles, ideally within hospitality or multi-unit operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing full P&L responsibility and leading accounting operations.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, GAAP, and hospitality industry financial operations.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and capital planning.
  • Advanced accounting and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial insights to executive leadership.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
