Location: Bellingham, WA (Hybrid: 3 Days In Office / 2 Days Remote)
Salary: $100,000–$125,000 DOE
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established manufacturer and are seeking a hands-on Controller to partner directly with the CFO and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization.

This is a highly visible role for someone who enjoys being involved in all aspects of accounting while helping improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and support the company's continued growth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including cash management and bank reconciliations
• Manage the general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
• Oversee accounts receivable, customer invoicing, collections, and cash application
• Monitor cash flow and prepare daily cash reporting
• Support inventory and cost accounting, including inventory valuation, product costing, and analysis of operational costs
• Prepare financial statements and management reporting
• Process expense reports, banking transactions, and payroll support activities
• Assist with annual audits, 1099 reporting, and year-end close
• Develop and document accounting procedures and strengthen internal controls
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and operational efficiencies
• Partner closely with the CFO on financial analysis, budgeting, and special projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting
• Experience with inventory and cost accounting in a manufacturing, food production, distribution, or related environment is highly preferred
• Experience leading month-end close and preparing financial statements
• ERP experience required (NorthScope experience is a plus)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment
• CPA or public accounting experience is a plus but not required
