CFS is partnering with a highly regarded professional services organization to identify a Controller to lead and oversee the firm's accounting and financial operations. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with a law firm background who enjoys working closely with firm leadership and driving financial excellence. The position offers a hybrid schedule with 4 days onsite in Boston and a competitive salary range of $160,000-$190,000.

Controller Responsibilities

• 
  
• Lead all accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close activities
• 
  
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management functions
• 
  
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• 
  
• Manage annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes
• 
  
• Monitor firm profitability and provide strategic financial insights to leadership
• 
  
• Coordinate annual audits and tax-related activities
• 
  
• Develop and maintain internal controls, financial policies, and compliance procedures
• 
  
• Oversee partner compensation and related financial reporting
• 
  
• Manage banking relationships and cash flow planning
• 
  
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members
• 
  

Controller Qualifications

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 
  
• CPA strongly preferred
• 
  
• Required: Prior law firm accounting experience
• 
  
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including management responsibilities
• 
  
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
• 
  
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
• 
  
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• 
  
• Proficiency with accounting and financial management systems
•
