Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Manufacturing Financial Controller/ Accounting Manager to lead the financial management and reporting functions within our manufacturing operations in Brundidge, Al. In this role you will serve as the finance leader for plant performance, accounting operations, cost management, inventory controls, forecasting, internal controls, and operational finance support. This role is a key business partner to plant leadership, providing financial discipline, performance visibility, and actionable insights that support operational execution and enterprise objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience within a manufacturing, plant, or operational finance environment.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, cost accounting principles, inventory management, and internal controls.
  • Experience supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, month-end close, account reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and operational finance.
  • Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing operations and profitability drivers including inventory flow, yields, labor efficiency, throughput, scrap, and working capital management.
  • Experience partnering closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Plant Leadership to support business decisions and operational performance improvements.
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop accounting team members while building strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as an independent finance leader within a manufacturing facility, providing support, guidance, and expertise across accounting, operations, and plant leadership teams.
  • Preference for candidates with broad manufacturing finance experience and the ability to quickly assess issues, establish priorities, and implement sustainable solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar manufacturing ERP platforms, along with advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
  • Demonstrated career progression and stability with a track record of increasing responsibility and long-term impact within prior organizations preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently, influence cross-functionally, and thrive in a fast-paced, hands on manufacturing environment.
