THE ROLE
The Controller takes a key leadership role in the financial reporting and execution of assigned music festivals, concerts, and branded shows. The Controller will oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives. This position reports to the VP of Finance. This is not a remote position.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the activities of the accounting department for the accurate and timely reporting of financial statement consolidation requirements and annual audits.
  • Administer regulatory reporting, including tax planning, technical accounting and internal control compliance
  • Builds, develops and manages accounting team capable of carrying out needed initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data.
  • Aligns financial policies and procedures with company objectives and provides management with information vital to the decision-making process.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop priorities to ensure that all teams are properly trained.
  • Manage outsourced functions.
  • Assist the head of Finance on a wide variety of special projects, such as acquisition integrations and information technology enhancements.
  • Some travel may be required (economy).
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7+ years' of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Advanced knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP and IFRS).
  • Knowledge of U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations and provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act required.
  • Proven ability to manage teams to support planning and building large-scale events or music festivals.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute staff training sessions.
  • Sterling reputation for excellence in the required role with at least five top notch references.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets and Oracle Fusion preferred experience.
  • Must be motivated with an "Everything is possible attitude.
  • Must be an active problem solver, instilled with a sense of urgency for projects large and small
