LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Cost Controller. This role is responsible for leading all accounting and financial operations while serving as a strategic business partner to executive leadership and plant management. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on cost accounting experience within a standard cost manufacturing environment and a proven ability to drive financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and business performance.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, fixed assets, and month-end close activities.
Lead the preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage and maintain the company's standard cost accounting system, including product costing, cost rollups, and cost updates.
Analyze manufacturing variances, labor utilization, material consumption, overhead absorption, and inventory performance.
Partner with operations leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve plant profitability.
Monitor inventory valuation, cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory controls.
Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic planning initiatives.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies and procedures.
Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
Support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership to support key business decisions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
Strong hands-on cost accounting experience within a standard cost manufacturing environment is required.
Experience analyzing manufacturing variances, inventory valuation, and product costing.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and business partnering abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations.
Continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, or process improvement experience is a plus.

Pay Details: $110,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year
