We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who is passionate about financial management and is aiming to bring their expertise to a vibrant, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

The Controller will have a wide range of responsibilities. These include, but are not limited to:

1. Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
2. Ensuring the company's accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
3. Maintaining 842 lease accounting compliance and fixed assets.
4. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
5. Coordinating the preparation of the corporate annual report.
6. Preparing and reviewing financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
7. Calculating variances from the budget and reporting significant issues to management.
8. Manage and develop corporate accounting team and structure based on needs of the company.
9. Leading month-end and year-end close process.
10. Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required
2. A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
3. Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
4. Hands-on experience with 842 lease accounting, fixed assets, and month-end close.
5. An ability to direct and supervise.
6. High attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
8. Proficiency in accounting software.
9. A strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
