Camino is partnering with a fast-growing software holding company that owns and operates a decentralized portfolio of software businesses. The business consolidates accounting, reporting, and finance centrally while its portfolio companies run day-to-day operations independently, giving it the pace and flexibility of a group of small companies with the reporting rigor of one unified organization.
\n
\n
The company is in an active growth phase, having recently completed a series of acquisitions, and is now investing in building a best in class accounting function.
\n
\n
The Role
\n
We're looking for a hands-on Controller to own day-to-day accounting operations and be a close partner to the CFO. This is a builder's role: you'll set up and organize the books, lead a transition to a modern accounting platform, and manage the accounting implications of a growing, multi-entity, multi-currency structure across the portfolio. Great fit for someone who wants to build and organize a function, not maintain one that's already built.
\n
\n
What You'll Be Doing
\n
\n
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across the consolidated group, ensuring GAAP compliance
\n
Set up, organize, and standardize the books across portfolio companies where consistency doesn't yet exist
\n
Manage the general ledger, AP, AR, and revenue recognition at the HQ level
\n
Lead the finance side of a transition to a modern accounting platform, including chart of accounts design and data migration, followed by an AP automation rollout
\n
Own consolidation for multiple entities, including multi-currency reporting across the portfolio
\n
Serve as the connective tissue between portfolio-company bookkeepers and HQ finance, without requiring a fully centralized back office
\n
Partner with the CFO on banking consolidation and broader finance infrastructure as the company scales
\n
Operate with a high degree of autonomy in an early stage, fast-moving environment
\n
\n
\n
What We're Looking For
\n
\n
Progressive accounting experience with Controller or Assistant Controller-level scope
\n
Multi-entity, multi-currency accounting and consolidation experience
\n
CPA
\n
Comfortable building and organizing books and processes from scratch, rather than maintaining an already-mature environment
\n
Prior experience in a decentralized, multi-entity, or acquisitive company structure (holding company, roll-up, or PE-backed portfolio company) is a plus
\n
Software/SaaS industry experience preferred
\n
Motivated and comfortable in a raw, fast-paced environment
