Controller - Construction - Boston

A Boston-based commercial construction firm is seeking a Controller to support a high-growth market. This is a highly visible leadership role overseeing month-end close, financial reporting, forecasting, internal controls, and project financial operations for a large regional business unit. The position will manage a team of 4-6 accounting professionals and partner closely with operational leadership across the business.

Responsibilities:

Oversee financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and month-end close
Ensure strong internal controls, compliance, and balance sheet integrity
Manage project forecasting, billing, AR performance, and capital expenditures
Support operational leadership with financial analysis and risk identification
Lead administrative and office operations for the region
Coach and develop team members while fostering a collaborative culture

Qualifications:

8-10+ years of accounting experience, construction industry experience required
Open to public accounting candidates with strong construction clients
Proven leadership abilities
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, blue-collar, team-oriented culture
