Our client is a family-owned manufacturing company with approximately $100 million in annual revenue and a 75-year history of producing premium-quality respiratory and hearing protection products. The Opportunity
The company is looking for a hands-on Controller to take ownership of the accounting function and become a key partner to the VP of Finance. The VP has been with the company for more than 20 years and previously held the Controller role herself, so she is looking for someone she can trust to fully lead and manage the accounting department.
This person will oversee the full accounting operation, including:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- General Ledger
- Month-end close
- Financial reporting
- Inventory and manufacturing accounting
A major part of this role will be managing product and production costing. The ideal candidate will have strong manufacturing accounting experience and understand how to properly analyze labor, materials, overhead, inventory valuation, standard costing, variances, and overall production costs.
The Controller will work closely with operations and manufacturing leadership to help drive visibility into profitability, costing, and operational performance.
This is an on-site position and requires being in the office five days per week.
What Theyre Looking For- Strong manufacturing and cost accounting background
- Experience leading an accounting department
- Ability to manage both strategically and tactically in a hands-on environment
- Experience with inventory-heavy businesses and product costing
- Comfortable working within a family-owned company culture
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- CPA is preferred but not required
- Experience with international operations is a plus
