We are seeking a hands-on, operationally minded Controller to lead the accounting function while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day details. This individual will own the full accounting cycle, financial reporting, month-end close, and inventory accounting while overseeing the Senior Accountant and Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable functions.

The Controller will also play a key role in improving processes and identifying opportunities to leverage automation, technology, and AI tools to create efficiencies across the accounting function.

This position requires up to 25% travel.

Key Responsibilities
\n
\n
Own the full-cycle accounting function, including general ledger, journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
\n
Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
\n
Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reporting.
\n
Manage inventory accounting, reconciliations, and related processes.
\n
Remain hands-on and involved in the day-to-day accounting activities and problem-solving.
\n
Oversee, mentor, and develop the Senior Accountant and Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable functions.
\n
Identify inefficiencies and lead process improvement initiatives across the accounting function.
\n
Evaluate and implement automation and AI tools to streamline manual processes, improve reporting, enhance data analysis, and increase efficiency.
\n
Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve reconciliations, reporting, workflows, and the month-end close process.
\n
Partner with operational leadership to provide financial insight and support business decisions.
\n
Support annual audits and other reporting requirements.
\n
Travel to company locations as needed, up to 25%.

Qualifications
\n
\n
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
\n
Progressive accounting experience with strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
\n
Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar accounting leadership role.
\n
Strong experience with month-end close, financial statement preparation, general ledger accounting, and reconciliations.
\n
Experience with inventory accounting.
\n
Previous experience managing and developing accounting professionals.
\n
Demonstrated success identifying and implementing process improvements.
\n
Interest in leveraging AI, automation, and technology to improve accounting processes and efficiency.
\n
Strong systems aptitude and a continuous-improvement mindset.
\n
Ability to operate as both a hands-on accountant and a leader.
\n
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
\n
Ability to travel up to 25%.
