Job Description

Location: Elkin, NC (On-Site – Monday through Friday)
 Reports To: President/Owner
Salary range $100k-$150K depending on experience
Position Summary
seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Controller to lead the company's accounting and financial operations while developing into the future Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who is eager to grow into an executive leadership role and help shape the financial strategy of a growing manufacturing company.
This position requires someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment and is comfortable wearing multiple hats. The Controller will oversee all day-to-day accounting functions while partnering with company leadership to improve profitability, streamline financial processes, and support strategic business decisions.
This is a fully on-site position in Elkin, NC. Remote or hybrid work is not available.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
  • Manage all accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Fixed Assets. 
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. 
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes. 
  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting. 
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital. 
  • Oversee banking relationships and financing activities. 
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial controls. 
  • Coordinate annual audits and tax preparation with outside CPA firms. 
Business Leadership
  • Partner with ownership to develop financial strategies that support company growth. 
  • Analyze financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability. 
  • Develop KPIs and financial dashboards for leadership. 
  • Support pricing strategies, cost analysis, and capital investment decisions. 
  • Provide financial insight for operational improvements and business planning. 
Team Leadership
  • Lead and mentor accounting staff. 
  • Improve accounting processes and internal controls. 
  • Implement best practices and continuous process improvements. 
  • Foster collaboration across finance, operations, and executive leadership. 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. 
  • CPA or CMA preferred. 
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience. 
  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred. 
  • Experience with cost accounting and inventory management. 
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. 
  • ERP system experience preferred. 
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and a desire to advance into a CFO role.

  • Cost accounting and inventory controls. 
  • Budgeting and forecasting.
