Job Details

Our client is seeking a Controller to own and build the company's accounting function end to end. This is a hands-on leadership role reporting to the Corporate Controller and partnering closely with the VP of Finance.

You will be responsible for:
  • Designing and implementing formal accounting policies, internal controls, and month-end/year-end close processes
  • Overseeing all GL accounting, revenue recognition, cost of sales, payroll, and accruals
  • Managing cash, crypto, and digital asset reconciliations
  • Preparing and owning financial statements — P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
  • Ensuring GAAP compliance and managing technical accounting questions including revenue recognition, equity, and leases
  • Leading ERP and accounting system upgrades and automation initiatives
  • Setting up and managing foreign entities including statutory reporting, VAT registration, intercompany accounting, and FX
  • Managing the full audit relationship including RFP, firm selection, and day-to-day audit coordination
  • Building, mentoring, and scaling the internal accounting team
  • Liaising with external tax advisors for compliance filings

Requirements:
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong US GAAP background — SaaS, marketplace, or fintech experience strongly preferred
  • CPA license or Big 4 background strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite, FloQast, Ramp, or similar systems
  • Proven ability to build and scale teams and processes in a startup environment
  • Experience with ERP implementation a strong plus
  • Exposure to payments, fintech, or digital assets a plus

Compensation: $180,000 — $230,000 base salary plus equity
Location: Palo Alto, CA (hybrid 3 days per week in office)
