Kforce has a client that is seeking a Controller in Foxboro, MA. Summary: The Controller directly oversees Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Ledger functions, including full ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, while ensuring compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. Primary and Essential Job Functions:
  • Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Lead consolidation of financial results across multiple store locations and entities
  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Analyze financial results and provide variance explanations to CFO and leadership
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all accounting operations across retail operations and corporate functions
Directly manage teams responsible for:
  • Accounts Payable (high-volume vendor processing, inventory payables, trade vendors)
  • Accounts Receivable (sales reconciliation, vendor bill-backs, rebates, and collections)
  • Payroll (hourly and salaried workforce, tax compliance)
  • Oversee daily sales reconciliation, cash controls, and store-level reporting
  • Ensure accurate accounting for inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), shrink, and gross margin
  • Support operational leaders with financial insights to drive store profitability
  • Oversee company-wide cash management and forecasting across all retail locations
  • Oversee sales tax and payroll tax compliance
  • Lead annual external audit and preparation of audited financial statements
  • Design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls across all accounting processes
  • Ensure integrity of financial systems, data, and reporting
  • Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and systems to support scale

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a four-year College or University
  • 8+ years of hands-on managerial experience in an accounting department responsible for the monthly closing process
  • Retail/wholesale experience preferred, particularly within multi-store operations
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems; Experience in more than one system preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and retail/POS integrations
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
  • Knowledge of payroll taxes and payroll tax regulations
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
  • Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
