Plant Controller

Aviation Ground Equipment Corp. is seeking a Controller to lead our Finance department. This is a key role reporting to the VP/General Manager. The role will be responsible for overseeing AGEC’s accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements. The role ensures integrity and accuracy of financial information and supports the facility on strategic financial decisions, operational efficiency and business growth.

AGEC is a rapidly growing developer and manufacturer of commercial and military ground power and control equipment supporting military aircraft with Ground Support Equipment (GSE). Our men and women in the military rely on AGEC to deliver critical assets that protect this nation and our allies. What will you do:

  • Serve as the financial leader for AGEC and advisor to the VP/General Manager, CEO and CFO, with the objective of achieving corporate goals.
  • Manages the monthly and annual closing and reporting which includes performance against financial plan.
    • Responsible for accurate reporting of all P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow entries and statements.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting, including internal and external reporting to include bank covenant compliance for loans.
    • Ensures proper management of bank cash
  • Manage a small department of accountants responsible for proper G/L entries, AP, AR, payroll processing, expense process, etc.
  • Establishes annual operation plan (AOP) with VP/GM and team.
  • Manages year-end financial performance including external financial audits including proper capture of memos and adjustments as applicable
  • Works continuously with CFO on policy and financial operations approach to improve data quality and cycle time as well as proper financial reporting up to corporate.
  • Performs capital expenditure and margin justification analysis.
  • Manages and works with other leaders on Key Performance Indicators for the business.
  • Collaborate with human resources on self-insured benefits and reconciling statements.
  • Collaboration with Supply Chain on inventory analysis – obsolete, slow moving, cycle counting.
  • Partner with key plant management in performing cost reduction.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/business or finance required, Masters preferred.
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) plus years of related accounting, finance or equivalent experience. Prio work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated deep knowledge of accounting principles/policies and GAAP, with proficient knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership and experience with proper processing of financial reporting both internally and externally
  • Strong critical thinking competency to break down what the numbers are telling us and strategy for what we need to do about corrections or improvements
  • Leadership competency with ability to manage at times difficult situations, timing pressure, and challenging situations with calm and clear leadership
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with employees and managers at all levels within the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate operational performance to corporate guidelines and drive improvements required to attain improved performance.
  • Possess outstanding planning/organizational skills
  • Prior work experience with Government/Defense Contractor a plus.
