Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic
Controller to oversee all financial operations for our growing manufacturing company. This position plays a key role in managing accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is hands-on, able to work independently, and comfortable supporting both high-level financial strategy and day-to-day accounting tasks in a small business environment.
Financial Management & Reporting- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and banking.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain accurate cost accounting records, including inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, and margin analysis.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare cash forecasts.
Budgeting & Forecasting- Develop and manage annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Analyze financial results to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or efficiency improvements.
- Provide financial insight to support business planning and decision-making.
Compliance & Controls- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax, labor, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with external CPA firm for tax filings, audits, and year-end reporting.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
Leadership- Supervise and develop accounting staff.
- Collaborate with company leadership to align financial goals with operational objectives.
- Provide clear and timely communication of financial performance and recommendations to management.
Operations Support- Partner with production and operations teams to analyze manufacturing costs, inventory levels, and process efficiencies.
- Support purchasing, pricing, and cost analysis decisions.
- Implement and improve financial systems and reporting tools.
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Finance required (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing industry experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory control.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting ERP systems; advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a small-company environment and manage multiple priorities.
