    Description

    We are a growing, private company that operates several restaurants.

    We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our organization.

    Qualifications:

      • Accounting degree
      • Strong GAAP knowledge
      • 6-8+ years accounting experience
      • Restaurant, retail and/or multi-unit experience preferred
      • Previous supervisory experience required
      • Strong accounting skills
      • Strong analytical skills
      • Efficient in Excel
      • Effective communication and analytical skills
      • Experience with ERP systems such as Great Plains and Accpac
      • Strong understanding of the balance sheet
        • Fixed assets
        • Intercompany
        • Bank debt
        • Deferred rent
        • Etc.
      • Self-sufficient and able to take instructions and work independently
      • Ability to reconcile balance sheet accounts and propose journal entries

    Responsibilities:

      • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department staff
      • Process daily, weekly, monthly and year end transactions for general ledger, cash receipts, payroll and treasury
      • Oversee accounts payable functions
      • Responsible for preparing and issuing monthly financial statements for multiple legal entities
      • Responsible for managing fixed asset module including implementation
      • Prepare cash forecasts, P&L variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations
      • Perform Financial Planning & Analysis projects and other analytical work
      • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance with accuracy and timeliness of reporting
      • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
      • Assist in the coordination and completion of annual reviews and governmental/regulatory audits
      • Provide recommendations for improvements in systems and procedures
      • Complete special projects as assigned
