Interim Controller (Contract)

Kent, WA | Onsite | 6-8 Week Contract

Seattle Search Group is partnering with a well-established company in South King County to identify an Interim Controller for an immediate 6-8 week contract. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who can quickly step in, oversee the accounting function, and keep the department running smoothly during a transition.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process.
• Prepare and review financial statements, including monthly P&L reporting.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Oversee general ledger accounting and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Supervise a small accounting team, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Administrative staff.
• Review AR and collections activity.
• Support cash management and day-to-day accounting operations.
• Assist with process improvements and maintain strong internal controls.
• Support the company's recent transition to QuickBooks Online.

Qualifications

• Previous Controller or strong Assistant Controller experience.
• Strong month-end close and financial reporting experience.
• Experience with journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• QuickBooks Online experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to work independently and make an immediate impact.
